Granary House

Brixton, London, UK

Granary House is a large family home within a conservation area in south London, where the kitchen and dining space had remained largely unchanged for more than 20 years. The brief was to carefully update the heart of the home in a way that felt considered, durable, and rooted in daily use.

We were brought on to guide the design of a custom plywood kitchen, working closely with the clients as they collaborated with a specialist company. Our role focused on proportion, material choice, and spatial composition, ensuring the finished scheme felt integrated with the existing house rather than imposed upon it.

The project extended beyond cabinetry alone, incorporating a revised lighting strategy and refreshed interior finishes to bring clarity and coherence to the kitchen and dining area. The result is a space shaped around routine and gathering — practical, warm, and quietly expressive — designed to support family life for years to come.
